Site Settings

Site name, description, OEE data store, time zone and physical location.

The Site Settings tab is shown when a Site node is selected on the OEE Sites page. It defines the metadata that applies to every Area and Equipment under the Site — most importantly, the time zone used to evaluate shifts and the data store that holds OEE results.

Site Settings — Site info (name, description, data store) above, Location (time zone, lat/long, map) below

Site info

Field
Required
Notes

Site name

Yes

Display name used everywhere the Site is shown.

Description

No

Free-text, multi-line. Useful for capturing physical address, contact, or operational notes.

Data Store

Recommended

Drop-down filtered to data stores whose Purposes include OEE. The Site cannot ingest data or measure OEE without one — see Prerequisites for how to flag a data store.

Location

The location block defines the time zone used by all OEE calculations for equipment under the Site, plus an optional point on a map for at-a-glance overviews.

Field
Required
Notes

Time Zone

Yes

Filterable drop-down of all system time zones. Defaults to Europe/Berlin for new Sites. The selected zone is used to evaluate shift recurrences and planned-stop schedules — change it deliberately, and only when the physical Site’s time zone really changes.

Longitude / Latitude

No

Decimal degrees, six decimals. Either type the values directly, or click on the map to drop a marker.

The marker on the map reflects the current Latitude / Longitude values and updates when you click the map.

All shift and planned-stop times are stored in UTC. The Time Zone setting only controls how those UTC instants are displayed — changing it does not change the underlying data or any historical OEE results. A shift configured as 07:00–15:00 in Europe/Berlin is stored as the corresponding UTC interval; switching the Site to America/New_York means the same interval is shown at New York wall-clock time (e.g. 01:00–09:00 in winter). If the equipment physically moves to a new time zone and you want the schedule to keep its local wall-clock semantics, recreate the shifts in the new zone.

Saving

The Site Settings tab participates in the page-level Save / Cancel toolbar. The tree on the left is disabled while the editor has unsaved changes — save or cancel before selecting a different node.

Validation errors (missing name, missing time zone) are surfaced under the offending field and the Site tab header is marked invalid until they’re resolved.
